Rock Sliders for Campbell

January 26, 2021 by Donald Anderson

After Campbell’s running boards took serious damage on our run down the Mineral Creek Trail to Ouray, they needed replacing. For the replacement, we installed steel rock sliders so it won’t be a problem again.

We chose the Rock Sliders from BudBuilt. They mount directly to the frame using a thick steel plate that runs the length of the frame.

They can support the massive weight of the vehicle to prevent damage to the body from rocks and other objects.

They also help prevent damage from side-swiping an obstacle. The bump you see at the back of the slider is a “kicker”. It gives the vehicle a shove to move it away from objects on the side.

BudBuilt recorded an installation video on YouTube, that shows the installation. It can help you decide if you want to perform the installation yourself or enlist the help of your local custom shop.

Should you decide to install them, the instructional video is a great help.
